RYA Cruising Level 2 - Basic Skills
Build on the skills gained during Start Sailing, Competent Crew or Day Skipper, focusing on sailing techniques as both crew and helm.
Course Description
Mastering the skills needed to sail can boost your confidence, enhance your problem-solving abilities, and provide a tremendous sense of accomplishment. The RYA Cruising Level 2 course is designed to build on the basics of sailing, creating a solid foundation of practical skills and knowledge.
The course covers yacht handling and sailing in more detail, with lots of practical teaching and boat handling. Consisting of 2 days (16 hours) of teaching, you’ll learn about manoeuvres on a yacht under sail and power, as both a crew member and helm.
While the course does require a background in sailing, it offers families and individuals over the age of 16 the perfect opportunity to improve and build on their existing knowledge.
